As a Senior Associate at Cole-Frieman & Mallon LLP, Devan advises clients on a range of transactional, regulatory, and operational matters, including the structuring and formation of private investment funds and compliance with state and federal securities law.
Before joining Cole-Frieman & Mallon, Devan was the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of FORT LP, a $6B multi-strategy hedge fund registered with the SEC and CFTC. Before that, he was an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where he worked on a variety of transactional and regulatory matters including CLOs, swaps and REMICs, and Dodd-Frank implementation.
Prior to law school, Devan spent three years on the trade desk at FORT LP, overseeing trading operations across global markets.
Devan received his J.D. and M.P.P. from Georgetown University Law Center and McCourt School of Public Policy and his B.A. in Philosophy from Cornell University.
