As a Partner at Cole-Frieman & Mallon LLP, Brett advises and solves problems for his clients, who typically range from new founders or early-stage start-ups to seasoned entrepreneurs and larger privately held companies.
In serving Brett’s clients, he acts as outside general counsel, advising on everything from formation through exit, and everything in between, including fundraising rounds, contract review, corporate restructuring, secondary securities sales, corporate clean-up, employment, data privacy law and regulation, dissolution, and real estate asset protection.
Overall, Brett enables business by advising his clients and guiding them through challenging and often ambiguous and friction-laded legal and regulatory environments, with particular niches in blockchain and digital currency (i.e., Web3), fintech, technology/SaaS companies, and other brick and mortar businesses.
To accomplish sustainable business and navigate the various spectrums of risk, Brett designs and builds customized processes and structures that foster scalability and synchronization, especially between the leaders and collaborators in the key areas of business, technology, and legal.
Outside of the office, you can find Brett in the gym, at the golf course, attending a sporting event or concert, traveling, or spending time with his family, friends, and significant other and cat Chispa, whether in the Bay Area or Midwest.
